#MYOL News: Kendrick Lamar & Top Dawg Entertainment/Aftermath/Interscope (VIDEO & BLOG) (Mar 4th-10th)

e

Talent is never really the problem or maybe it is. In my opinion its more about the moves you make with the talent you are given. With that as a pre-requisite, I would say Kendrick Lamar would be #1 MC out of this new generation of Hip Hop that has been on fire since 2010. When it comes to his talent, the lyricism and style is one that is unprecedented in a time where a "socially-concious rapper" from the WestCoast is not what the mainstream Hip Pop radio stations are looking to play, yet. He has the ability to crossover and make a concept or club hit with a feature or remix but his ability to grow as an artist and boss without conforming to that Hip Pop wave is what is really impressive. The news breaks he will be working with Dr. Dre/Aftermath and I got excited to see a "new" generation MC get an opportunity to truly make his own lane. When it comes to moves, Kendrick has fully controlled the product and put a value on it that has allowed him the leverage to work with some of the greatest of all-time from the beginning of his career on a major label. 3's in the air, Hiii Power! Hip Hop lives! S/o to my B Phi B brother Fredo Tovar & Aplusfilmz doing big things too!
